I had aminogram too, I used to have it with green cordial in a paste, yuK! Then it was maximum with orange cordial and I can't drink either now. So funny to hear the same story from others.

Do you think it's ok to drink supplement that is expired? I have PKU cooler 20 and it's past the expiration date but I don't want to waste it.

Firstly, Do Not take any nutritional advice from a gym or a personal trainer! They are usually not qualified to give advice to the general public let alone someone with complex nutritional requirements like PKU! Secondly, switch to a lower calorie/lower volume formula, eg Lophlex or PKU Cooler. Drink your formula strategically, it is all protein so really fills you up - spread it out throughout the day. Thirdly, eat lots and lots of fruit and vegies and try to make some of your other low pro foods high in fibre which also fills you up (I know this is a hard one). Do not be tempted to cut out healthy fats because they're very good for you and also fill you up and make everything more tasty eg extra virgin olive oil, canola oil and avocado. Finally and very importantly - move more, do some exercise, any type any time, just take every opportunity throughout your day to move around. Or find some structured exercise that you really enjoy eg gym classes or walking and make it a priority.

Hi, my name is Allison, I'm 31, almost 32 and I live in Newcastle, NSW. I have PKU, mild PKU according to my levels and my recent genetic results from Prof Christodoulou (?sp). I am getting married this year and contemplating children in the next few years so I really need to get some updated info re the diet as I have been out of touch for years! I have just discovered this site, it seems wonderful, thanks so much to those who've developed it.
