Hi there, i was previously KADY78 but had to create a new profile as was having trouble with logging in!!

Anyway i am 31 year old with PKU living in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, back on the 10's to Teens diet at the moment to loose some weight so that i can start the pregnancy diet to start a family with my hubby.

i would really appreciate some support and anyone local who i could swap tips and stuff with.....you know just someone to chat to who knows what i am going through.....god love my husband as much as he tries to understand....he just cant ever truly understand how hard it is to go back to such a restrictive diet after 2o years off diet.

Really strugglinh to stay on track at this time of year too....i am afriad that if i can't stick to it now how am i going to go on the pregnancy diet which is soo strict for the entire time....not just when ur pregnant.

Would love to hear from anyone.

Thanks
Kady08

Hi Katy :)

How's it going? My name is Kate - I'm 26 and also on the preconception diet.

I live on the fringe of the CBD in Melbourne, just off St Kilda Road.

I've been looking for PKUers in Melbourne as well - I think it would be great to have some kind of support network for PKU adults here, especially for those of us who are thinking about babies or have families of our own.

Are you under the children's clinic at the Royal Childrens Hospital or the adults clinic at Monash?

Speak soon
Kate

We should organise a Melbourne get together, just an informal one, to actually meet each other face to face and swap stories.

I know Danielle is pretty keen to organise a meet up. She has made a post about it on the PKU Australia group on facebook.

I'd definitely be keen....

Let me know where and when and I'll try and be there. A longer trip for me as I'm in regional Vic but with a bit of notice I might be able to make it.

Hi Ladies,
I don't know if you have organised a day to catch up with each other but thought that I would let you know that a lunch is being held on Sunday March 21st at Daisy's Club Hotel in Ringwood at 12.30pm. The venue has a playground for those of you with children, there is an Easter activity for the children and of course a low protein menu is available.
The venue is easy to get to as it is just off East Link in Ringwood
This is a regular dinner date activity that the MDDA has about four or five times a year in Melbourne.
If you are interested in attending please email mddaadmin@iprimus.com.au
Look forward to meeting you.
Kerri

Hi Kerri,

I would be quite interested in coming along to this if I can get the day off work.

Is the venue easy to get to via public transport?

Cheers
Kate
